What is Qigong?
Qigong is pronounced: qi- 'chee' + gong. "Qi" is life force energy, and "Gong" means to cultivate or practice.
You may have seen people practicing a form of Tai Chi in the park, doing slow movements and moving their arms and legs. Qigong is the Mother of Tai Chi. It is less mentally challenging as the movements are simpler, and do not require you to memorize long routines.
Qigong is an ancient Chinese meditation and healing practice used to generate your own internal medicine within your body. It was created by the Shamans of China, and have been recorded on scrolls from over 5 000 years ago.
All forms of qigong work with energy, striving to achieve balance between Yin and Yang polarity and functional harmony among the Five Elemental Energies that govern the internal organs. All forms involve a fusion of internal and external, movement and stillness and engaging the Three Treasures of essence, energy and spirit. Each class we focus on body posture, breath work and present mind focus. To create internal medicine in your body, these qigong flows bring so much healing to your body when practiced on a regular basis.
The main goals of qigong are:
1) Preserving health
2) Curing disease
3) Prolonging life
4) Developing physical strength
5) Cultivating awareness
Is Qigong for everyone?
Each class is a unique combination of 4 aspects of qigong. Breath work, body acupressure massage, flowing movements and standing positions that together return our body to a state of healing. People inquire if you need to be physically fit to join, but the answer is no. Participants can easily follow the teacher's guidance and learn and work at their own level. All ages are welcome and will benefit from the practice.

I had such a wonderful sleep last night. I can have difficulty sleeping at night, but after all the self massage and acupressure points you taught me, I slept soundly. I'm going to keep repeating what you taught me, it helps me so much. Qi gong helps me when I am experiencing anxiety or stress. The breathing is very calming , as are the slow and graceful moves.I feel that qi gong has also helped my joints and my balance. I have been practising qi gong daily since the beginning of the pandemic and I highly recommend. it.

Anne's gentle and kind manner and her vast love and passion for qigong is so evident in her classes.
Both from her training in China, and continued courses with qigong masters throughout North America, her knowledge of qigong is vast and makes her classes interesting, fun, and unique. I always come away from her classes feeling, calmer, happier, and almost pain free. Anne's positive energy is so uplifting and her meditations are so lovely. By receiving her recorded class I can practice them over and over.
